Second Chance Love: A Regency Romance Set

My two favorite things about writing romance are conversations with readers (at conferences or online), and the  camaraderie among fellow romance writers. Second Chance Love: A Regency Anthology is dear to my heart because it grew out of both. I met the lovely Annabelle Anders last year at the Historical Romance Readers Retreat and was thrilled when she asked me to be a part of an anthology celebrating older heroines who find love.

So, where did the characters in my story come from? I was wrapping up Heart’s Desire (releasing May 13th and currently up for pre-order-yay), and had become intrigued with Mrs. Amelia Sartin, an older widow who plays a key role in that story. I wanted to give Amelia her own happy ending, and so Mrs. Sartin’s Secretary was born.

The story is a twist on the classic Boss/Secretary trope, and I had fun leading Amelia and Matthew through their merry dance, which takes place concurrently with Heart’s Desire. You can read a short excerpt here.
